Purpose of the Role

As FMEA Engineer you will be a subject matter expert on the best practice utilisation of FMEA across the business. You will be instrumental in defining systems tools and processes to enable the business to identify and develop best practices for proactive risk analysis, failure mode prevention and operational control.

You will be part of a team of engineers ensuring overall reliability of product and processes to minimise risk and impact of failure, utilising clear data analysis techniques to make quality recommendations across the business and act as a quality partner to R&D and manufacturing

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Lead and Facilitate FMEA Activities: Guide cross‑functional teams through structured FMEA sessions, ensuring proper methodology and engagement from all stakeholders.
  • Develop and Maintain High-Quality FMEA Documentation: Create and update DFMEAs/PFMEAs
  • Analyze Risks and Drive Mitigation Actions: Identify high‑risk failure modes
  • Ensure Compliance With Industry Standards: Apply AIAG‑VDA, Agratas and customer-specific requirements
  • Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams
  • Integrate FMEA Into Product Development & Change Management: Embed FMEA into early design stages, process planning, and change control, ensuring alignment.
  • Reporting: Reporting on overall progress as well as project risks identified through FMEA analysis.
  • Provide Training and Coaching: Teach and mentor teams on FMEA concepts and tools, helping build organizational capability in risk-based thinking.
  • Use and Maintain Supporting Tools: Manage FMEA software and templates, ensuring consistency, data integrity, and effective use of available tools.
  • Support Customer and Supplier Interactions 

Job Context

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading FMEA activities within automotive, battery, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong understanding of APQP, Six Sigma, and risk management frameworks.
  • Skilled in facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with digital FMEA tools and platforms (e.g., APSIQ).
  • Experience in training and capability development is highly desirable.
  • Experience with cross-functional programme delivery.
  • Familiarity with battery systems or electrified powertrains (if relevant to Agratas).
  • Exposure to digital quality tools or model-based systems engineering.
