Description:

Purpose of the Role

Agratas’ Robotics Subject Matter Expert (SME) with battery industry experience should be a technical lead responsible for supporting Launch and Integration of high-precision automation required to manufacture battery cells, modules, and/or packs. They support the deployment of diverse robotic architectures to handle delicate and chemical components and charged assemblies with extreme speed and repeatability.  Experience working in clean environments is also applicable to this role.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Process Automation Design: Support designing end-to-end robotic lines for cell sorting, stacking, and ultrasonic/laser welding.

  • High-Speed Material Handling: Optimizing pick-and-place workflows for electrode sheets and cylindrical/prismatic cells using SCARA and/or other robotics.

  • Complex Assembly Integration: Implementing 6-axis articulated robots for material handling and pick and place before, during and after assembly.

Knowledge Generic

  • SCARA (Selective Compliance Articulated Robot Arm): Primarily used for high-speed, vertical-axis pick-and-place and assembly where precision on a horizontal plane is critical.

  • 6-Axis Articulated Robots: Utilized for tasks requiring maximum flexibility, such as 3D bin picking, reorienting heavy battery packs, and complex welding paths.

  • End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT): Specialized knowledge in vacuum grippers for fragile electrode handling and heavy-duty mechanical grippers for module palletizing.

  • Safety & Collaboration: Expertise in ISO 10218 safety standards and human-robot collaboration (Cobots) for manual inspection stations.
