Purpose of the Role
Agratas is looking to hire an experienced Patent search specialist to conduct comprehensive patent and non-patent literature searches including patentability, prior-art, freedom-to-operate, invalidity and landscape searches in battery technologies, energy storage systems, material science, manufacturing processes, and related engineering domains. The candidate will collaborate closely with patent attorneys, inventors, and research teams to assess innovation landscapes, monitor competitor activities, and ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely patent research deliverables.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Conducting patent and non-patent literature searches using various databases for generating technology landscapes, patentability, freedom to operate, validity/invalidity, and infringement reports.
- Infringement analysis of formulation/process etc. proposed by R&D and review of critical patents.
- FTO: Search and analysis to identify blocking patents and design IP strategy for blocking patents.
- Review and Analysis of the search reports to address technical and strategic needs through analysis of the patents.
- Perform white space analysis, competitive bench-marking, and technology scouting in Battery Field to identify market trends, opportunities and threats.
- Draft and review patent application, responses to office actions, and other patent related documents.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Strong technical and analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in patent databases.
- Experience in conducting FTO, Patent search, Infringement analysis, Patent landscaping.
- Draft and review patent applications, responses to office actions, and other patent related searches.
Desired:
- Previous experience in patent searching and drafting in manufacturing sector.
Role Specific Qualifications
- B.E in Chemical Engineering. or M.Sc. (chemistry) with 4-5 year experience in Patent search.
- PG Diploma in Patent Law and Practice (Preferred).
- Strong technical skills for comprehending technology concepts and evaluating the technology features.
- Experience in Patent database searches and ability to search relevant prior arts.
- Good knowledge of IN, US and EP patent laws for infringement analysis.
