Purpose of the Role
The Assembly Technician / Engineer is responsible for operating multiple systems for the assembly of pouch cells. The role includes handling electrode stamping, stacking, tab welding, pouch forming units, electrolyte dispensing equipment, sealing systems, and inline inspection tools. Strong focus is placed on precision, consistency, safety, and maintaining quality standards within a dry-room environment. Coordination with Electrode (Coating/Calendering) and Formation teams is essential for smooth production flow.
Key Responsibility Areas
Operating Assembly Equipment
- Operate electrode stamping (cutting) units
- Operate stacking systems to align and layer electrodes and separators accurately.
- Operate ultra sonic welding units
- Run electrolyte dispensing equipment with controlled and accurate dosing.
- Operate pouch sealing systems ensuring integrity and leak-free closure.
- Monitor HMI panels, process screens, safety indicators, and alarms for stable operation.
Material Handling & Preparation
- Handle electrodes, separators, pouches, electrolyte containers, and cell components safely.
- Ensure correct orientation and order of parts entering the stacking process.
- Prevent contamination, deformation, or moisture exposure of sensitive materials.
Quality Checks
- Inspect sub-assemblies for alignment, visual defects, tab quality, and surface condition.
- Use measurement and inspection tools to validate thickness, dimensions, and sealing quality.
- Report variations such as misalignment, poor welds, leaks, or contamination.
