Purpose of the Role

Agratas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, is a fast-growing battery technology company focused on designing, developing, and manufacturing high-performance, sustainable batteries for mobility and energy applications. With advanced R&D Innovation Hubs in India and the UK, the company is driving green growth and technological innovation. As an IT Infrastructure Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing IT infrastructure, manufacturing applications, and network systems at the Somerset site. This position ensures operational readiness, business continuity, and seamless collaboration with manufacturing teams, contributing to the development of a resilient and efficient smart manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support business objectives.
  • Manage and maintain manufacturing IT infrastructure, ensuring high system availability and reliability.
  • Support Gigafactory IT projects, infrastructure expansion, and operational readiness.
  • Act as the primary IT contact for manufacturing stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with central IT teams, vendors, and automation engineers to maintain service continuity.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices and ensure compliance with IT policies and regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate IT operational risks while supporting business continuity planning.
  • Maintain accurate IT documentation and asset inventories.
  • Deliver user training and support digital adoption across the organization.
  • Drive continuous improvement through effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and service optimization.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience managing manufacturing IT infrastructure, networking, and OT systems (SCADA, PLCs, IoT).
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing applications such as PLM, MES, LIMS, CAD, and simulation tools.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working with regulators, business partners, and third-party vendors.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management, and business-critical IT systems.
  • Proven ability to plan and deliver IT projects, including risk assessment and recovery planning.
  • Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to solve complex challenges in dynamic environments.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant certifications preferred, including CompTIA A+, Cisco CCNA, and Microsoft System Administration.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to align IT solutions with business needs and objectives.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Somerset, UK, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
