Purpose of the Role

Logistics and Customs Coordinator will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth flow of goods at all times, managing customs clearance processes and ensuring compliance of cross-border logistics operations. This role requires a strong understanding of customs and trade compliance, transport regulations, and import and export best practices. The incumbent will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including shippers, carriers, agencies as well as internal teams to ensure seamless coordination and compliance to all relevant laws and regulations in relation to logistic activities.

This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Bridgwater office.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Perform and implement all inbound and outbound logistics activities such as customs clearance, shipment tracking, documentation reviewing and preparation
  • Carry out customs and trade compliance studies and monitor regulatory changes for inbound and outbound commodities such as tariff classification, CoO, import/export control, documentation, and other routine activities in accordance with compliance and audit objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with shippers to ensure trade compliance.
  • Liaise with forwarders and carriers to ensure smooth and efficient customs clearance and freight activities.
  • Oversee freight assignments and proactively follow up until assignments are completed.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to foster compliant logistics operations.
  • Collect and preserve holistic shipping documents and freight invoices

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven extensive experience in customs and trade compliance.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
  • Effectively manage work priorities with sense of urgency.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse data and develop reports.
  • Identify, assess and report compliance risks imminently.
