What you'll do...
The Principal Engineer, Technical Cleanliness, will play a critical technical leadership role in ensuring the design, integration, and optimization of advanced mechatronic systems across the entire battery cell production and testing environment. With a strong focus on contamination control and testing systems, you will provide strategic oversight across a broader system scope, ensuring the highest standards of operational efficiency, safety, and quality. Your deep technical expertise and innovative approach will drive continuous improvement and establish best practices for the commissioning and operation of complex mechatronic systems.
Personal attributes
- Expertise: Understanding how manufacturing processes can produce contamination which has potential to transfer in products is essential. An appreciation of detection and prevention methods and monitoring systems is critical.
- Problem Solving: Organised, logical and practical thinking is required for the role to ensure we keep on task during the Installation, Commissioning and Operating phases. Understanding the manufacturing process requirements (e.g. Materials and manufacturing processes) and providing day to day operational support contributing to a flawless start-up.
- Organisation and Influence: This role is pivotal to the delivery of our business goals. You will be required to work, communicate and influence a wide range of stake holders spanning global manufacturing engineering, operations, EHS and capital projects.

The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help in building large-scale logistics facilities from the ground up.
What you'll bring...
- Technical leadership experience in commissioning and optimizing mechatronic systems within battery manufacturing, testing, or a similar high-tech industry Experience using data-driven analytical methods for performance enhancement and troubleshooting.
- Technical expertise in mechatronic systems used for testing and performance validation in production environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of contamination control principles and their application to production and testing processes.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects with a focus on system-level integration and optimization
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards and operational protocols related to testing and contamination control in industrial environments
- Knowledge of metrology and contamination systems
