What you'll do...

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Robotics Engineer to join our team in the Battery Manufacturing Industry. In this role, you will play a critical part in enhancing and automating our manufacturing processes using state-of-the-art robotics technology. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge automation projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to optimizing our production efficiency. The ideal candidate will be passionate about robotics and automation, with a proven track record of working within manufacturing environments, particularly in industries involving high-precision processes. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, experience in vendor and stakeholder management, and the ability to manage complex projects from conception to execution

Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset. 

What you'll bring...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation & Control Engineering, , Mechatronics, or a related technical field. Master’s degree or certifications in automation systems is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of robotics, automation, and control systems (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC robots).
  • Programming expertise in languages such as Python, C++, ROS, and PLC systems for the control of robotic systems.
  • Project management experience with a track record of successfully managing complex automation projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Experience in vendor and stakeholder management, including contract negotiations and ensuring suppliers meet quality and performance expectations.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly in battery production, assembly, and packaging.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and improving robotic systems.
