What you'll do...
We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking SCADA/Automation Engineer to lead the design, development, and integration of SCADA and PLC systems in a modern battery manufacturing facility, including Building Management System (BMS) integration. This role will be responsible for designing robust control architectures, ensuring secure data connectivity, and supporting smart factory initiatives through scalable and resilient automation platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading full project lifecycle for SCADA/automation systems from concept, budgeting, and design to FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handover.
- Define technical scopes of work for automation and SCADA vendors, ensuring alignment with internal standards and functional requirements.
- Coordinate with process, facilities, EHS, and quality teams to align automation with operational goals.
- Design and implement robust SCADA system architecture for real-time control, data acquisition, diagnostics, and alarm handling across the plant.

The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.
What you'll bring...
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Controls Engineering.
- Good experience in SCADA and PLC system development
- Hands-on experience with multiple PLC platforms Siemens (TIA Portal), Rockwell Automation, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Omron Sysmac
- Strong background in SCADA development (Ignition, WinCC, AVEVA, FactoryTalk).
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and smart utility systems.
- Experience with protocols like OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, Ethernet, Profinet etc.
- Solid understanding of industrial cybersecurity, change management, and validation compliance.
