We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated senior vision systems engineer to join our dynamic team in the battery manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, development, implementation and maintaining vision systems for automate inspection, measurement, and quality control in battery production processes
The ideal candidate will have a passion for automation and machine vision, with a strong background in engineering and hands-on experience with vision system integration in a manufacturing environment. The Vision Systems Engineer will be proactive, collaborative, and capable of solving complex technical challenges while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.

Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
The team you'll join...
The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.
What you'll bring...
- Extensive knowledge of machine vision technologies, including camera systems, lighting, optics, and image processing tools (OpenCV, MATLAB, Halcon, etc.).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and familiarity with machine learning libraries for vision system applications.
- Experience in integrating vision systems into automated manufacturing environments, ideally in high-precision industries such as battery production or electronics.
- Familiarity with smart manufacturing solutions, machine learning, IoT, and AI-driven vision technologies is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience in manufacturing environments or automated inspection systems is strongly preferred.
