What you'll do…

As a PMO Technical Project Lead, you will play a key role in the successful planning, delivery and governance of technical projects across our battery cell manufacturing programmes. Working within a fast-paced gigafactory environment, you will lead the execution of manufacturing and engineering projects, ensuring delivery to agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Operations to drive project performance, manage risks and changes, track critical milestones and provide clear reporting to stakeholders. This role will be instrumental in supporting the development and commissioning of one of the UK's largest battery manufacturing facilities.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules covering equipment installation, production trials, commissioning activities and manufacturing readiness.
  • Monitor project progress against key milestones and ensure timely delivery of programme objectives.
  • Manage project budgets, tracking costs and forecasting spend while highlighting and addressing variances.
  • Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans and proactively manage issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project change control activities, assessing the impact of proposed changes on scope, cost, quality and schedule.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, gateway reviews and performance metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate activities across engineering, procurement, quality, manufacturing and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support programme governance, ensuring actions, decisions and deliverables are effectively tracked and managed.
  • Oversee quality requirements throughout project execution, ensuring systems, equipment and processes meet performance, compliance and safety standards.
  • Create and maintain project documentation, reporting tools and programme records to provide a robust single source of truth.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery, planning processes and reporting capability.

What you'll bring…

  • Experience delivering engineering, manufacturing or industrial projects within a PMO, Programme Management or Project Management environment. 
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, risk management and change control experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing systems and programme delivery.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience within battery manufacturing, automotive, energy or a large-scale industrial environment would be advantageous.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain or a related discipline
