The Opportunity

Are you experienced in electrode and slurry processing? Looking to step into a leadership role at the heart of cutting-edge battery R&D?

Agratas is seeking an Electrode Lead to manage electrode and slurry processing lines at our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Oxford. This role offers the chance to take ownership of critical laboratory operations, support data-driven development, and mentor a team of test technicians working on the next generation of lithium-ion battery technology.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Facility Operations:
  Lead the day-to-day management of electrode mixing and coating lines, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant lab environment.

• Safety & Compliance:
  Champion safe working practices. Conduct and contribute to safety audits, and support continuous improvement across the facility.

• Scheduling & Coordination:
  Support project managers by scheduling test campaigns and ensuring timely execution of prototyping builds.

• Data Management & Reporting:
  Maintain accurate logs and documentation for traceability. Support project scientists in extracting and interpreting testing data. Communicate clearly and concisely with R&D teams.

• Equipment Management:
  Oversee calibration, maintenance, and spare stock for critical lab equipment. Maintain strong relationships with equipment vendors and stay informed about the latest innovations and upgrades.

Job Context

About You

You're a hands-on technical professional with experience in electrode processing and an eye for safety, process quality, and lab efficiency. You take pride in team leadership and smooth operational delivery.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience in an electrode processing or slurry lab facility.

• Strong understanding of slurry mixing, coating, and drying processes for battery electrodes.

• Experience working with SOPs, following script-based setups, and maintaining process discipline.

• Comfortable with process and measurement equipment and interpreting lab data.

• Familiarity with 5S practices and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).

• Proven experience in mentoring or supervising junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Technical background in engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field (qualification or equivalent experience).

• Ideal for an experienced technician looking to step into a team lead role in an R&D-focused, high-tech environment.
