Who we are…
Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors.
We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Somerset and looking to compliment, scale and grow our R&D facilities in Abingdon and Coventry with the brightest minds from within the battery and EV sector.
Our battery technology roadmap is based on a foundation of world-class solutions for multiple applications. Collaborating with our technical partners, we are industrialising best-in-class high energy density and long-lasting battery cells. We are also committed to developing the next generation of battery technologies.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Mechanical Requirements Engineer is a crucial role in Mechanical Design Team. This role requires a high level of analytical and critical thinking.
This role is required to lead engineering activities within the scope of a defined project, including coordination of resources, planning of timelines, and delivery of engineering milestones and support team and company initiatives with a similar approach. The Senior Mechanical Requirements Engineer will have a direct impact on the company’s ability to design, develop, and deliver safe, reliable, and high-performance battery systems to customers.
This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of sustainable energy solutions in a fast-paced, innovative
Key Responsibility Areas
- Be the primary point of contact between mechanical design team and systems engineering team.
- Analyse system requirements and further decompose as needed to translate to mechanical design requirements to be used by the mechanical design team.
- Support the mechanical design team by developing architecture and concepts that are compliant with the requirements created.
- Manage the mechanical design requirements and targets for different projects from the systems requirements breakdown phase, going through the mechanical design up to the verification phases following the Me-SPICE processes.
- Ensure that the requirements are clear, direct and robust to avoid ambiguity and mistakes.
- Ensure that the requirements are met and that the evidence is clear, direct and properly stored in our ALM software (i.e.) Polarion and supporting full traceability.
- Provide leadership that makes use of his/her extensive background in electrical, thermal and structural engineering.
- Take proactive ownership and work independently and with low supervision, being an example to less experienced engineers.
- Lead, manage, control and maintain his/her deliverables, using escalation appropriately.
