Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Architect to join our Battery Management System (BMS) development team. This role is focused on defining and evolving the software architecture for AUTOSAR Classic platforms in high-voltage automotive applications. The successful candidate will provide architectural leadership across requirements, design, and analysis, ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant solutions.
This is a hybrid working role that will be based in our Coventry office. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of sustainable energy solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibility Areas
- Define and evolve software architecture for AUTOSAR Classic BMS platforms.
- Analyse architectural trade-offs, performance, and safety implications using structured methods and simulation/analysis approaches.
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.
- Guide development and test teams in implementing robust, scalable solutions.
- Integrate safety and cybersecurity concepts into architectural design decisions.
- Collaborate with systems engineering, software development, and test teams to guide implementation in line with the approved architecture.
- Conduct design reviews, identify risks, and support technical problem solving throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in automotive software architecture and embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic (SWCs, RTE, BSW).
- Hands-on experience with ASPICE, functional safety and cybersecurity.
- Skilled in architecture analysis, modelling, and communication of technical decisions.
- Background in BMS or other safety-critical ECUs desirable.
- Strong communication skills to present and defend architectural decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
