The Opportunity
We’re seeking a technically skilled and innovation-driven Manager – BMS Algorithms to lead the development of advanced battery management system algorithms across our global teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and efficiency of our battery systems — influencing how our technology performs in real-world conditions.
This role sits at the intersection of control systems engineering, data modelling, and electrochemical science, offering a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge battery tech in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibility Areas

Lead the development of advanced BMS algorithms for State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), State of Power (SOP) and early failure detection.

Ensure algorithm robustness, accuracy, and compliance with industry safety standards and government regulations.

Design and implement lab tests, HIL/MIL/SIL environments to validate and calibrate control models.

Collaborate cross-functionally with cell, pack, quality, and manufacturing teams to define data requirements and support BMS-related investigations.

Stay up to date with industry advancements by engaging with academic literature and attending conferences.

Support issue resolution for customer-facing BMS concerns and contribute to continuous improvement of software solutions.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience

Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in BMS software development with proven technical impact.

Expert-level proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and control algorithm development tools.

Strong understanding of battery modelling (e.g., ECM, P2D models).

Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable Skills

PhD in a relevant discipline.

In-depth knowledge of lithium-ion electrochemistry and failure mechanisms.

Familiarity with BMS architecture, hardware/firmware, and integration techniques.

Experience with AI/ML optimisation techniques for control algorithms.

Understanding of ISO 26262 and automotive functional safety standards.
