What you'll do...
This is a rare chance to be the first HR hire in the US, helping us build the foundations of People Operations as Agratas grows.
- Run smooth onboarding and offboarding: paperwork, background checks, orientation, I-9 and E-Verify tracking, checklists, and equipment requests.
- Keep our HR systems and records accurate: maintain employee data, process changes, run routine reports, and resolve routine data issues.
Support benefits, payroll and employee queries: help with enrolment changes, broker tickets, provider change files, calendars, and Tier 1 questions using documented FAQs

Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop, and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset. Our first customers are Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors.
The team you’ll join…
You’ll join our US People Operations function at the ground floor. As our first US HR hire, you’ll bring order and pace to core HR coordination, and help build the routines and documentation that make a great employee experience repeatable.
What you'll bring...
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in HR coordination, People Ops, or a similar role.
- Comfortable using HR systems and platforms (HRIS, payroll, benefits) and working with providers.
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Clear, helpful communication and a service mindset.
- Organised approach to deadlines, checklists, and multiple requests.
What you’ll get…
- Salary: $55,000 to $60,000 per year (based on experience and market).
- Bonus: 7.5% target
- Benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off, and company holidays.
Pay range disclosure: This range reflects the salary we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this position at the time of posting in Massachusetts. Actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
